Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after 12 months of unprotected intercourse. There are many causes of infertility, including hormonal imbalances, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), endometriosis, uterine fibroids, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and blocked fallopian tubes.

The first step in treating infertility is to rule out any STIs or pregnancy. If these tests are negative, then the doctor may recommend further testing to determine if there is a problem with the female reproductive system.  If the cause of infertility cannot be determined, then treatment options depend on the type of infertility. Treatment options include medication, surgery, assisted reproduction techniques, etc. There are alternative treatment measures available as well. Know about some of the important treatment measures for Infertility problems.

  1. Medical Treatment:

Medication treatments include clomiphene citrate, gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists, aromatase inhibitors, and progesterone. Clomiphene citrate is often recommended for women who have not conceived after three cycles of ovulation induction with human menopausal gonadotropins. Gonadotropin-releasable ovarian stimulation is preferred over pituitary downregulation due to its higher success rate.

  1. Surgeries:

Surgery includes tubal ligation, removal of adhesions, and repair of damaged fallopian tubes. Tubal ligation involves closing off the fallopian tube using either sutures or clips. Removal of adhesions involves removing scar tissue that forms around the fallopian tubes. Repairing damaged fallopian tubes involves sewing them back together.

  1. Assisted Reproduction Techniques:

Assisted Reproduction Techniques (ART) include IVF, ICSI, and GIFT. In vitro fertilization (IVF) uses eggs extracted from the woman’s ovaries and sperm from her partner to create embryos. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) involves injecting individual sperm directly into the egg. Gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) involves transferring two gametes, an egg and a donor sperm, into the fallopian tube where they combine to create an embryo.

  1. Homeopathy:

Homeopathic remedies are natural substances that have been proven effective at treating many different ailments. These remedies are created using highly diluted forms of natural substances, which means they are extremely safe and non-toxic. Many homeopathic remedies are specifically designed to treat fertility issues.
